History of Clear Channel Switzerland

1925 Establishment of Plakanda AG.
1996 Through the acquisition of AWI Aussenwerbung, Plakanda AG, becomes no. 2 in the Swiss out-of-home advertising market.
1999 Acquisition of Interpubli Werbe AG.

The acquisition of Ofex AG gives another big boost to the Group’s market share. Ofex AG had managed some 80% of the outdoor advertising at Zurich airport over many years.

1999 In the same year, Clear Channel Outdoor acquires a majority stake in Plakanda. Clear Channel Outdoor is one of the world’s leading advertising companies, with over 970,000 sites in more than 40 countries. It is also one of the biggest providers of advertising displays at airports. The company is domiciled in San Antonio, Texas.
2005 With the takeover of Plakatron AG, the Clear Channel Group increases its offering and extends its network of contacts with authorities and agencies.
2005 Acquisition of Infotrak AG.
2006

Takeover of Felice GmbH. With this acquisition, the CCO Group further strengthens its mega-poster business.

2008 The private equity companies Thomas H. Lee Partners and Bain Capital acquire the Clear Channel Group.
2009 The purchase of CAC City Advertising Company AG further expands the Clear Channel Group portfolio.
2011 Consolidation of Group companies as Clear Channel Switzerland AG, with a new, uniform brand presence.
