At Clear Channel, emissions decreased at an above-average rate over the previous year. Forward-looking and sustainable initiatives were implemented not just in the ‘Planet’ pillar, but also in the ‘People’, ‘Public’ and ‘Profit’ pillars.
Around a 5% decrease in direct and indirect emissions
This is the result of the previous year’s flight ban, the decreasing number of kilometres travelled and the long-term measures for protecting resources. These include, for example, weekly route planning, increased efficiency thanks to the new field management app, remote support for digital advertising sites, increased use of green electricity and the continued conversion to LED lights.
Remote work, equal pay and social engagement
The pay equality analysis, audited by PwC, shows that taking into account differences in qualifications and job-related characteristics, women earn 3.4% less. Thanks to our efforts over the past few years, we are on the right track and aim to achieve the EQUAL-SALARY certification in 2021.
The pandemic last year has shown that the working world can and should change for the long term. The regulations required for manageable, mobile working and flexible working hours were successfully introduced on 1 October 2020. For Clear Channel employees, the work of the future will be a combination that suits them.
Despite tough conditions, last year Clear Channel succeeded in establishing a digital out-of-home network at Coop Pronto shops across Switzerland. This goes hand in hand with a long-term financial commitment to the Coop Mountain Areas Sponsorship Programme and its projects to preserve bee colonies.
Contribution to the United Nations SDGs
The 2021 Clear Channel report shows values and initiatives in the four pillars of the CSR strategy: Planet, People, Public and Profit. The report, which follows the international standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), enables the measures to be linked with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). For the first time, our report shows our contribution to the UN’s sustainability goals.
