Limmattal is one of the most dynamic regions in Switzerland. Since opening at the end of 2022, the new Limmattal light rail line has connected the municipalities of Zurich-Altstetten, Schlieren, Urdorf, Dietikon, Spreitenbach and Killwangen, creating a link between the cantons of Zurich and Aargau. This 13.4-kilometre route includes a total of 27 stops. The trams have capacity for 260 passengers per journey and travel in their own lane for over 90% of the route, separate from road traffic.
The Limmattal light rail line will significantly boost the attractiveness of the entire region. There are around 50 new Clear Channel advertising spaces along the route, all in high-frequency, visible locations, perfect for modern campaigns. All the advertising spaces are F200 backlit posters.
IKEA used this new communication platform for a full branding campaign to celebrate the anniversary of its first store in Switzerland. It couldn’t be more fitting, as the light rail line includes a stop specifically for the Swedish furniture store. In 1973, Swedish meatballs met Swiss raclette when the first IKEA store was opened in Switzerland. The anniversary campaign focused on the company’s defining values and social responsibility.
