The shopping habits of many Swiss people have changed in the past year. The increase in solidarity shown to local businesses during this time should remain sustainable.
The Swiss Retail Federation, the Swiss Trade Association sgv and Agro-Marketing Suisse have come together to launch ‘Shopp Schwiiz – hier lebe ich, hier kaufe ich’ (‘Shop Swiss – I live here, I buy here’) a joint campaign to keep this momentum going and build on its positive impact. The billboard campaign, which is being run in all language regions in digital and traditional formats, was created by Swiss advertising agency Die Antwort.
Studies show that due to the pandemic, Swiss people are showing a tendency to prefer local businesses and are consciously choosing to shop in Switzerland. Major food retailers are reporting record sales and weekly markets are being frequented in numbers never seen before. And according to a survey conducted by the University of Lucerne, an increased trend towards valuing local produce has been seen during the coronavirus pandemic.
In collaboration with Setaprint, we’re delighted to support this cause and promote it on our media platforms throughout Switzerland. Together, we hope to show that billboard campaigns can have a motivating and persuasive impact.
