The art of poster design
Generally, 50% of the effectiveness of a poster campaign is down to the creative work. There is no other medium where creativity has a bigger influence than in out-of-home advertising. The concept of reduction is vital to the effectiveness of a poster. Reduction requires order and prioritization of ideas, as well as a strong creative central theme.
- Message and headline: must get across in 1–2 seconds, be catchy and easy to grasp
- Few words: maximum of seven
- Font size should make text readable up to 20 metres
- High contrast dark on light and complementary colours are easiest to take in
- Logo must be clearly recognizable
- The use of luminous, fluorescent and gold, silver or other metallic inks is prohibited in Switzerland by Federal byelaw.
- Animations on digital screens are not allowed in all locations. Please ask what options are available before booking.
The production process depends on the type of poster you are planning. Megaposters, classic posters and digital advertising all have different requirements.
Specifications, deadlines and supply quantity
All posters supplied are subjected to our rigorous quality testing process and require preparatory work before going on display. To allow us to apply the appropriate level of care to this process we need the posters at least 14 days prior to the display period. In order to guarantee the number of posters booked by you and perfect display we need a quantity surcharge.
